The incident began when a man was walking with his wife and son along the east side of the freeway at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27. They were driving through the area when they heard a loud noise, then followed the trail up an old dirt trail leading to the southbound shoulder of the freeway.
The man saw a dark brown, four-door sedan with tinted windows swerving away from them.
“The woman turned around, and when her husband was going up the highway she started screaming for help,” said james. “She ran down the shoulder and it was the guy’s family with them.

The family member who was running the backhoe for the sheriff’s department says he and a second employee were able to save his daughter’s life.
In a video posted on YouTube, the man can be heard telling sheriff’s deputies “I didn’t know my wife was going to kill me right now. I was so afraid. I didn’t know I was going to die.”
According to james, the father was wearing a long-sleeved shirt, a dark t-shirt, dark jeans, black shoes and a dark running light running in the middle of the road near the exit of the exit ramp. He was wearing a light on his left side.
james believes this accident is the latest in a series of incidents in the area and said this is the first time he has heard of this type of crime in San Andreas.
The incident is under investigation.
