With more than 10,000 migrants pouring into Austria over the past six months, Austria will spend up to €50 million to welcome the asylum seekers in the coming months, police sai부산 마사지d Monday.
Authorities would also build a new €50-million center for migrants in central Vienna that would be equipped with heat and water, showers, toilets and running water.
The new asylum center, which was opened in June by police under emergency law, would accommodate around 1여주안마0,000 asylum seekers SM 카지노who have lived in Austria for six months, police Chief Wolfgang Albers said at a news conference.
It is a small part of a huge effort planned by the Austrian government to absorb the roughly 8,000 asylum seekers it has received since January, and some of them have so far turned up to a new camp outside Vienna.
The European Union will spend at least €80 million to help the Austria government deal with the influx, according to estimates by the EU’s executive, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.
More than 2,000 migrants arrived in Austria last year alone and a further 11,000 were expected in 2016.
More than 4,300 people have died trying to enter Europe on boats. A majority of those deaths were committed by Afghans or Iraqis, according to the International Organization for Migration.
More than 1,300 people died trying to cross into Germany in 2015, including more than 1,200 people who drowned.
