Tiwi women petition against forest clearing in their region is on hold.

This petition aims at making the Forest Dept. aware of the impact it will have on the natural habitat for the Tiwi people.

The Forest Dept. has come under fire for removing 6,000 trees for the forest clearance proje룰렛ct.

But Teiwi Women’s Association president Prashant Sivakumaran said it is a «huge mistake».

«The Forest Department has got rid of the trees and even removed their dead branches. Our trees don’t come from the forest. We use our own trees. We are not against people of our village being given tree trunks to use, but if you remove our trees that come from the forest without asking us, it is just an act of intimidation,» he said.

Sivakumaran said, after the Forest Department failed to respond to the group, he decided to file a petiti청주출장샵on against them.

Forest department officials have denied that they have acted in the Tiwi people’s interest.

«At no time have we provided any forest clearance. It is only after the Tiwi women reached out to us as청주출장마사지king us for our trees that the Forest Department issued an order to remove them. This is a huge mistake. We hope the Forest Department will understand that.»

This is the second time that Teiwi women have petitioned the Forest Dept, this time in September when they met to express concerns about the planned forest clearances of an area around a park.
